BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Houchin Community Blood Bank is asking for blood donations for a young mom suffering from postpartum complications after giving birth.
According to Houchin Community Blood Bank, the mom's blood type is A-, however she is taking both A- and O- blood depending on availability.
Houchin Community Blood Bank is asking those able to donate to schedule an appointment and donate "in the spirit of Mother's Day."
Houchin Community Blood Bank Donor Centers are located at:
- 11515 Bolthouse Drive
- 5901 Truxtun Avenue
The donor centers are open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays.
Donors can call 661-323-4222 or visit their website to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome.
