Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer defensive tackle Warren Sapp almost became dinner while lobstering in the Florida Keys.

Florida's two-day sport lobster season opened on Wednesday.

Sapp ended up receiving a serious shark bite while searching for his lobster dinner near Marathon.

Two Conchs Charters a photo of the nasty gash on its Instagram page, writing the NFL Hall of Fame player and former "Dancing with the Stars" contestant was in an "#EpicBattle."

Sapp has his own take of the shark attack. On his Twitter account he wrote the Shark won the battle, but he did get a tasty meal out of the experience.
