Bakersfield Christian fell to Campolindo by a score of 31-7 in the Division 4-AA state championship game on Saturday.

Campolindo also won the Division III title game back in 2014. During the game, BCHS's Braden Wingle broke the single-season passing yard record for the Central Section.

More than 5,000 fans packed into Bakersfield Christian High School to see the first state championship held in Bakersfield in 92. There have only been two other title games held in Bakersfield, the last being held at Griffith Stadium on December 20, 1924 when Berkeley High beat Kern County Union High School (now BHS) 9-0.

After winning the school’s first D-III valley championship against Tulare Western, the Eagles got to the state title game thanks to a 28-27 win over Selma despite trailing 21-7 at halftime.
