The slow process of moving from a Bakersfield establishment to the Kern County Museum begins Wednesday morning.

Crews will begin moving it at 2 a.m.

The water tower, which has been standing at Bakersfield High School for more than 83 years, has been taken down and will be moved to the museum, where it will sit next to the museum's clock tower.

The process to take it down started Aug. 15.

The tower, which was built to increase water pressure on campus, currently lays directly in the path of the proposed all-weather track and football field.
