KCSO arrests 2nd suspect in SE Bksfd murder

Kern County Sheriff’s homicide detectives have arrested a second suspect for a murder which occurred on November 9th, 2015 in the 1500 block of South Union Ave., in Southeast Bakersfield.

Detectives arrested 32-year-old Guadalupe Ruiz on January 6th for one count of first degree murder.

He was booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility and is being held without bail.

Detectives had previously arrested 30 year old Quinton James on January 5th.

On November 9th, 2015, Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a fight occurring in the 1500 block of South Union Ave.

When deputies arrived they located a male victim lying on the ground. The victim was transported to Kern Medical Center with head injuries. On November 27, the victim died as a result of his injuries.
