The Bakersfield Fire Department unite girl scouts Hailey, Kylie with Jack the dog on August 22.

Hailey and Kylie are two local Bakersfield girl scouts who donated pet oxygen masks to the Bakersfield Fire Department after their extensive fund raising efforts. T

his story went global when, in May, one of the oxygen masks was used to revive Jack, a two-year-old male Shih Tzu, after he was rescued from a house fire by BFD Fire Engineer Matt Smith.

Jack’s owner, Jeff, has reached out to the girls and has arranged a meeting between the girls and Jack at BFD Fire Station #1, where he can personally thank the girls who made a difference in both Jack’s and Jeff’s lives.
