Shooting victim dropped off at Bakersfield Police Department headquarters

A shooting victim was dropped off at Bakersfield Police Department headquarters.

Officials said that at about 10 p.m. Saturday, a man was dropped off at the BPD headquarters with gunshot wounds.

Sgt. Gerrity with the BPD said that he's unsure how many people were in the car when it ended up in front of the BPD headquarters.

Gerrity said that the shooting originally happened in the Union Avenue and Brundage Lane area.

The male victim was taken to an area hospital with what were originally described as moderate to major injuries; BPD later said that the injuries were non-life threatening.

There is no suspect information at this time.
