“Operation Boo”, a statewide multi-agency effort aimed to keep kids safe while trick-or-treating, resulted in 62 arrests of sex offenders across California.

Law enforcement checked the homes of more than 1,200 sex offenders during Operation Boo on Halloween.

Sex offenders had to be home with porch lights off, no Halloween decorations, and no candy outside or inside the home from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Officers found two parolees at large and 15 cases of possession of child porn. Officers also confiscated weapons that were not permitted from six individuals.

Over 450 agents and law enforcement partners participate in the 23rd annual effort.
