For the first time in the modern era, the city of Bakersfield will host a state championship for high school football.
Despite trailing 21-7 at halftime, Bakersfield Christian (13-1) stormed back to win an instant classic 28-27 over Selma (13-1) in the D-4AA state bracket.
HIGHLIGHTS: Eagles survive state thriller
The Eagles move on to face Campolindo (11-3), a school located in Moraga just east of Oakland.

The game will take place Saturday December 17th with kick off set for 7:30 PM.
