BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — UPDATE (5:07 a.m.) All lanes of Highway 58 in both directions are now open after crews cleared power lines Tuesday morning.

All lanes of Hwy 58 are shut down in both directions at Union Ave after a truck with a boom hit an electric line. The California Highway Patrol reports it happened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted off at Chester Avenue. The northbound Hwy 99 ramp to eastbound 58 is also closed.

There is no estimated time for the highway to reopen.
