McFarland Unified School District confirms staff member tests positive for COVID-19

MCFARLAND, Calif. — The McFarland Unified School District confirmed that it was notified that one of its staff members tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a letter sent out to students and families, the district was notified over the weekend and immediately gave word to anyone who had contact with this employee to stay home. Those staff members who are in the chain of contact are also being directed to test for the virus and stay home until cleared by medical professionals.

The district said the employee is doing great and self-isolating. They said everyone in the employee's home tested negative.

The district also added that they employee didn’t have any direct contact with students or parents, but they had been on campus.

The district said, in light of this news, it will be postponing ‘Campus Checkout’ that was scheduled to take place on Tuesday.

It does not have a new date yet for checkout but will provide updates as they are made available.
