BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - It is time to treat yourself!
A new food truck is rolling into town with unique sandwiches, burgers, fried goodies, and sweet treats.
Jane's Chill Grill wanted to bring the popular fat sandwich to Bakersfield. This sandwich originated in New Jersey where grease trucks parked near a college campus and served subs with everything from burgers to onion rings and more. These over-the-top and indulgent dishes started a craze that made its way across the country.
You can expect everything but the kitchen sink on these sandwiches. The traditional Fat Jane for example has cheesesteak, chicken fingers, French fries, mozzarella sticks, and all the sauces.
Right now the menu is limited, but owner Scander says they will be adding more items and changing it up soon.
If you are wondering where to find this truck, it will actually be parking all over Bakersfield! For now, Jane's will be on the corner of G and 19th Streets in the Hen's Roost Parking lot during weekday lunch hours. On weekend nights, Jane's will be in front of the Alley Cat offering you some late-night eats!
