Car show, raffles and Halloween themed festival. Bakersfield Police had them all during their 4th Annual Car Show and Kids Festival. The event Saturday raised money for BPD's Activity's League or BPAL.

The event was held at the BPAL's community center on E 4th Street near Union Avenue on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

BPD raffled off bicycles, electronics and other prizes. Proceeds from the event benefit BPAL. BPAL uses that money to fund other community events, pay for their community center, supply local children with sports equipment and school supplies.

Sgt. David Brooks with BPAL said, it's important for BPD to have such community centers and events in Bakersfield so children can be more used to talking with police officers and to build better trust in the community.
