UPDATE: Bakersfield Police have identified the driver of the car as 18-year-old Nigel Eddie Nieto. According to officials, Nieto was driving under the influence at the time of the crash. He was arrested and charged with murder, causing injury under the influence of drugs and alcohol and driving with a suspended license. 

Police were leading a pursuit when the accident happened. Someone in the vehicle police were pursuing was killed, however it is unknown if it was the suspect who was killed.

Several others were injured and several vehicles were involved. The reason for the pursuit is unknown.
