The Bakersfield Police Department's Traffic Section will be conducting a DUI and driver's license checkpoint on Saturday, Dec. 16th within city limits, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The checkpoint will be conducted between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Checkpoints are placed in locations within the city based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests.
Drivers who are caught driving while impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and other expenses that could all exceed $10,000.
DUI checkpoints are a proven resource for reducing the number killed and injured in an alcohol or drug-related crash.
