Father acquitted in "shaken baby" case files lawsuit

Posted

A father acquitted in a 2015 "shaken baby" case has filed a wrongful prosecution lawsuit in federal court after spending over two years behind bars.

Jesus Flores and his attorneys are scheduled to hold a press conference at the Law Office of David Faulkner located at 422 Truxtun Avenue.

They will announce the case coming from the arrest, incarceration and prosecution of Flores at 1 p.m. on Monday.

In May 2015, Flores called police when his child appeared to be having trouble breathing. While the child was being treated at the hospital Flores was interviewed by Bakersfield Police detectives. Flores was accused of shaking his child and was handed a doll representing his child.

According to one of the detective's reports, Flores shook the doll violently. Flores, however said that a video recording of their interview did not show this happening.
