In Metro Bakersfield, there has been a 50% reduction in homelessness from last year. The adult count has reduced 49%. Adults with children have reduced 36% while children who are homeless has went down 40%.
Part of the reason for the decrease in numbers per the Kern County Homeless Collaborative is changing the count from dusk to dusk, to dusk to dawn.
