The Board of Supervisors is expected to hear a plan to implement a mobile health clinic in our area.

The Board authorized the purchase of a mobile health clinic in February 2017.

The Kern County Public Health Services Department says the mobile health clinic will serve communities that need the most help.

The Health Services Department has 11 buildings throughout Kern County but most of them are in the outskirts of cities with limited access from public transportation.

One of them even has metal detectors and the Department says these conditions combined keep people from reaching out to get the care they need.
