Kern Pioneer Village will open the newly restored boyhood home of country music legend Merle Haggard on April 9 along with the Haggard Boxcar Festival.

23ABC got an inside look at the home Thursday.

The newly restored boxcar will be open for public display Sunday, thanks to the Cynthia Lake Charitable Trust.
