Kern County Fire Department is battling a blaze in southwest Bakersfield.
Officials said a house caught is on fire in the 9000 block of Ellashosh St., near south H and Hosking Ave.
It started just before 10 p.m. Officials found three children and a woman outside of the home.
The children were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Firefighters say the blaze started after the homeowner fell asleep smoking. There were no working smoke detectors in the home.
