Nine drivers cited during BPD's DUI/driver's license checkpoint

Nine drivers were cited Tuesday night during a checkpoint conducted by the Bakersfield Police Department.

According to BPD, nearly 900 vehicles were screened during a DUI/driver's license checkpoint on Panama Lane between Ashe and Gosford roads.

BPD says two drivers were detained to be evaluated for their sobriety level, nine were cited for driving while unlicensed and three were found to be driving on a suspended license.
