Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood addressed the future of the Rosamond substation Monday morning.
Because of ongoing budget troubles the department has been forced to make cuts, but the future of the Rosamond substation is still unclear, according to the sheriff.
The department is working with libraries to see if they have space to use. If they can’t find a space, the closest substation would be in Mojave and deputies would develop a beat system for Rosamond.
Youngblood said his greatest concern looking ahead is the possibility of not having enough sheriff’s deputies to fill all the substations.
