A man is dead after a car crashed in to a semi truck early Tuesday morning.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the car that ran into the semi truck was stolen around 12:50 a.m.
BPD says the car was stolen from a home on Berkshire Road and was actually followed by the victim. The suspect increased speed and started driving recklessly.
The suspect passed a car on Gosford then ran a red light at the intersection of Gosford and Taft Highway, running into a semi.
The suspect, only identified as an adult man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
