Victims robbed at gunpoint at Valley Plaza Mall

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - BPD is investigating after victims say they were robbed at gunpoint in the Sears parking lot at Valley Plaza Mall.

According to BPD, the robbery occurred on Thursday, November 22 around 11:20 p.m. on the north-side of the Sears parking lot. BPD says that the victims were approached by a Hispanic male and a black or Hispanic man. One of the men was armed and demanded the victims' property by gunpoint. Both then took off on foot.

On Friday, November 23 just after 1:30 a.m., three people were in the mall parking lot, south of the food court, near the food court a Forever 21 and waited for a tow truck when they were approached by two men and robbed at gunpoint according to police.

The suspects ran off and were picked up by a dark colored vehicle in a nearby neighborhood.

BPD believes the two robberies may be connected.
