2 People Shot in Central Bakersfield, 1 Confirmed Dead

UPDATE 8:39 am: The male victim who died from his injuries has been identified as 18-year-old Da-Leon Williams. The female victim has been identified as Tatiana Simon, who is listed in stable condition at a hospital.

Williams was a graduate of Ridgeview High School and employee of Kern Medical Center. He was the great nephew of Wesley Davis, Founder of the Wendale Davis Foundation. The organization is an intervention, prevention, and mentoring foundation with a mission to educate, motivate, and rehabilitate at-risk youth. Williams is survived by his mother, Misty Roberson, and twin brother, Daniel Williams.

UPDATE: BPD confirms that one of the victims has died from their injuries.

Two people have been shot at an apartment complex near Q St. and 40th St. in Central Bakersfield, according to BPD.

BPD was called out to the scene at around 10:41 p.m. Thursday.  They found one victim suffering from major injuries, and one suffering from minor injuries.  There is no suspect information at this time.
