The California Highway Patrol is reporting a deadly head-on crash in the Kern River Canyon, southwest of Lake Isabella that killed three people.
The crash happened just before 3 p.m. about four miles east of Kern Canyon Road.
Officials shut down the Kern River Canyon for a couple hours as they worked to clear the wreck.
According to the CHP, an 86-year-old man and an 82-year-old woman, both from Wofford Heights, were passengers in a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old woman from Morrow Bay.
The vehicle hit a pickup truck just before 3.
