KCFD has crews fighting Pine Fire in Ventura County

Pine fire grows to over 1,600 acres

Update 7/4: Kern County Fire Department continues to assist in containment of the Pine Fire, which currently has burned 1,634 acres and is 0 percent contained. 

The KCFD firefighters are part of 455 personnel that are fighting the fire in the Los Padres National Forest. 

No mandatory evacuations are in place. 51 structures are threatened by the fire and one injury has been sustained. 

It is still not known what caused the fire.

Kern County fire crews are heading to the Pine fire that is burning 6 miles southwest of San Guillermo Mountain, that is in Ventura County.

The fire is burning just outside the Kern County line, and is closest to Mt. Pinos. According to Cal Fire crews, the blaze has grown to more than 200 acres. According to reports it is 40% contained. 

According to Kern County Fire Captain Tyler Townsend, the Rio Bravo Hotshots are heading to the fire, with a crew of 22 firefighters.
