Multiple buildings caught on fire in East Bakersfield Wednesday evening. Officials responded to a garage fully on fire and a 1,500 square foot house half in flames, according to KCFD.
The fire broke out just before 5 p.m. in the area of 2416 Center Street, just east of Mt. Vernon Avenue. The blaze threatened three nearby structures.
The fire was out at approximately 5:35 p.m. and caused an estimated $140,000 in damage.
One person was sent to the hospital with minor burn injuries to the face. A family of five was displaced and is being assisted by the Red Cross.
The cause is under investigation.
