Shooting in South Bakersfield leaves two men dead, Bakersfield Police searching for a shooter

UPDATE (May 22, 2017 2:45 p.m.): The two victims of Sunday's shooting have been identified as 19-year-old Alexis Ayala and 23-year-old Ronail Sheppherd.

UPDATE (May 21 4:36a): Bakersfield Police said just before 2 a.m. Sunday officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 2800 block of Morin Court near Planz Rd. and Wible Rd. 

When officers got on scene they found a man with major injuries. 

A second man with major injuries was found about a block away in the 3100 block of Coventry Drive. 

Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene. 

The names of the victims will be released by the Kern County Coroner's Office at a later time.

There is not suspect information at this time. The motive for the shooting has yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.

At least two people have been shot outside of the Coventry Place Apartments in South Bakersfield.

According to BPD both victims have suffered major injuries. 

We have no suspect information at this time. 

We have a crew heading to the scene.
