Angel Sovell said she was injured while riding the Starship 3000 ride on Sunday.

Christina Holver of Bakersfield said she let her eleven-year-old daughter Angel go to the Kern County Fair with a neighbor and her kids yesterday afternoon.

Angel went on the Starship 3000 and came out with her head gushing blood, she said.

According to Angel, she said the seat inside the ride was broken and the ride operator wasn’t stopping the ride in time.

Holver said her daughter was told by fair workers she was fine to go home.

But later that night, she ended up having to get 2 staples in her head and realized she had a concussion.

Mike Olcott, CEO of Kern County Fair, said Angel was jumping up and down inside the ride and they are investigating the incident.
