2 dead, one injured in S. Bakersfield shooting

Two people are dead and one is in critical but stable condition after a shooting occurred in South Bakersfield on Sunday.

At around 12:36 a.m. Bakersfield Police officers were flagged down for a report of a shooting that just occurred in the 6300 block of Ming Avenue.

BPD officials said when their officers arrived, they located the victim’s vehicle stopped in the middle of Ming Avenue, east of Ashe Road.

Officials added that the adult male driver and an adult male passenger was found to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced deceased at the scene.

An additional adult male passenger was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

The victim’s names will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner’s Office.
 
Both directions of Ming Avenue between Ashe Road and Westholme Boulevard are temporarily closed as investigators gather evidence.
 
As of 2:45 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
