Within the last month, Kern County Fire Department Fire Station 72 in Lake Isabella was burglarized on three separate occasions, and over $15,000 worth of county equipment and personal items were stolen.

Because of the recent burglaries, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office Kern Valley Substation began an investigation into the burglaries based on information developed during other investigations. As a result, deputies developed information that stolen property from the fire station was at the Mountain View Trailer Park in the 4400 block of Lake Isabella Blvd.

Early Thursday, at about 2:47 a.m., deputies began a foot patrol in the area of the trailer park. While on foot patrol deputies contacted 44-year-old Donald Snyder sitting in a vehicle with the interior light on.

Deputies then went to Snyder’s trailer inside the park where they contacted his girlfriend, 32-year-old Chelsea Blair, who was on probation and subject to search. Deputies searched the property and located most of the items reported stolen from Fire Station 72, including items that had not yet been reported stolen including an AED device and personal property.

Deputies also contacted 28-year-old Harvey Mahoney and 35-year-old Adrian Acuna and determined they were in possession of stolen items from Fire Station 72, along with about ¼ pound of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Mahoney also had several warrants for his arrest.

During the investigation deputies were able to determine additional stolen property was possibly at the home of 44-year-old Michael Deatherage in the 3000 block of Cox Rd. in Lake Isabella. Deputies responded to that home and contacted 21-year-old Alizabeth Haworth, who was also on probation and subject to search.

Deputies searched that residence and located a stolen motorcycle, a loaded rifle, and stolen property belonging to the US Forest Service which had not yet been reported stolen. Haworth was also under the influence of a controlled substance.

Deatherage was not at his home, but there is probable cause to arrest him for being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, possession of stolen property, and being an ex-felon in possession of ammunition.

The suspects were arrested and booked into the Sheriff’s Office Central Receiving Facility for their listed charges:
