On Friday, police released the 911 phone call leading up to a man dying after being detained by police.

On October 2, the unidentified caller said Jose Cesar Vilorio was acting paranoid about something going missing.

An hour later she went to confront Vilorio over personal items he had taken of hers, and saw him holding a machete.

Vilorio was arrested after resisting police and died in the hospital three days later.

The cause of death is pending.

Bakersfield police still haven't said what kind of force they used to detain Vilorio, and whether that may have contributed to his death.
