Agriculture fire in Lost Hills causes $80,000 in damage

A fire at Wonderful Pistachios in Lost Hills Wednesday caused an estimated $80,000 in damages.

Kern County firefighters were called to a large fire around 2 p.m.. Agricultural waste product stored in wood and plastic containers were 70% in flames.

The fire was contained to the outside rear storage location and did not impact any of the raw crop storage or processing facility.

Approximately $250,000 worth of possessions was saved.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
