Amtrak will be adding an additional trip to the Bay Area starting Friday morning.
On Friday morning Amtrak will officially launch a seventh daily round trip from Bakersfield to Oakland's Jack London Square.
According to Amtrak, this is the first expansion of the route in more than 14 years.
An official ceremony will be held starting at 10 a.m. Friday.
