According to the Orange County Register, Mexico's shortage of avocados is causing prices to skyrocket in the States.
On Monday, Santa Ana-based Ingardia Bros. shared that a case of avocados was teetering around $76, which is the highest the company has seen in over 30 years.
Prices have more than doubled since last year, due in part to a poor growing season in California. Avocado season in California is coming to a close, and there are not enough avocados available south of the border to meet demand.
It's unclear what is causing the shortage.
