On September 1, 2016, at 11:57 p.m., Bakersfield Police Department officers were dispatched to a report of a carjacking that had just occurred in the parking lot of the Walmart located at 2601 Fashion Place.

The victim reported that he had been sleeping in the vehicle when he was confronted by two suspects, one of whom brandished a firearm and demanded his vehicle.

 

On September 4, 2016, at about 4:00 p.m., Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's deputies located the victim’s vehicle in the area of Parker Road and Castaic Road in Santa Clarita occupied by two subjects. Elijah Metcalf, 19, and Isaac Alvarado, 25, both of Bakersfield, were arrested for charges related to the carjacking.

 

On September 6, 2016, Bakersfield Police Department detectives transported Metcalf and Alvarado back to Bakersfield where they were booked on carjacking and conspiracy charges.
