A Bakersfield man has been arrested in connection to the theft of oilfield tools, the Kern County Sheriff's Department announced Tuesday.

Detectives said Miguel Avon, 31, stole approximately $4,600 worth of tools from the equipment yard of an oil company in the area of S. Union and Ming Avenues.

Rural Crime detectives said they found evidence on East Casa Loma Drive linking Avon to the crime.

Avon was booked into the Kern County Jail and has since bailed out, according to jail records.
