David Esparza was assaulted by another on July 10, 2016 and later died from his injuries. His death is being considered a homicide.

He was transported to Kern Medical Center for treatment and on July 27, he was transported to Kindred Hospital in West Covina for further treatment.

His condition worsened and he was pronounced dead on July 30.

After a postmortem examination the cause of death is hypertrophic heart disease with other significant condition of blunt head injuries.
