A man from Bakersfield received an 11-year prison sentence on Monday for receipt and distribution of child pornography.

According to court documents Eliot Brown, 29, knowingly received more than 600 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and violence between Feb. 2014 and Oct. 2015.

Brown was found to have encouraged a minor to engage in sexually explicit behavior and send him the images on at least two occasions.

He will be required to register as a sex offender when he gets out of prison. This status will restrict his access to the internet, computers and children.
