Local Bakersfield Pizza Hut locations are giving 20% of all sales to the Kern County Erskine Fire victims. Money raised from July 13th to July 17th will be donated to Kern County United Way.
Bakersfield Pizza Huts have also donated food and water to relief stations.
"Giving back to our community in a time like this is not only the right thing to do, but it's what we want to do,” Brian Thompson, president of Bakersfield Pizza Huts, said. “ We love our community and just want to help.”
The Erskine Fire was the 15th most destructive wildfire in the history of California, burning more than 48,000 acres. Cal Fire announced that the fire was 100% contained Monday. Over 309 structures were destroyed.
