Bakersfield Police on scene of a deadly shooting in east Bakersfield

UPDATE (10:15 p.m.): Bakersfield Police say the suspect they are looking for in connection with this shooting is a white or Hispanic male with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and white and black shorts. The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model red or maroon Kia Forte.

UPDATE (8:15a.m.): Bakersfield Police said around 5:25a.m. they were dispatched to the area of 700 Williams Street near E. Truxtun Avenue for reports of a possible victim of a shooting. 

When officers got on scene they found a man who was suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officials said there is no suspect information and the investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE (6:35a): Officials said the man who was found in east Bakersfield was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Officials said the man had at least two apparent gunshot wounds. 

Roads in the area will be shut down for several hours.

Bakersfield Police are investigating a shooting in east Bakersfield. 

Officers responded to the area of Williams St. and E. 19th street around 5:30 Saturday morning. 

Initial reports are that one person has major injuries. 

Officers are on scene investigating the incident.
