UPDATE (Nov. 21, 10:57 a.m.): Lanes at Stockdale Highway are back open after a deadly crash on Monday morning.

====================================

Westbound traffic on Stockdale Highway is closed off while Bakersfield Police investigate a deadly vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Southwest Bakersfield.

The incident happened around 6:00 a.m. on Stockdale Highway and New Stine Road.

Police say the victim's white gardening truck stalled near the median of that intersection. They then got out of the vehicle where they were hit by another pick-up truck and killed.

The driver of the red pick-up truck was not hurt.

BPD say the roads were slick at the time, but do not think weather was a factor.

Police say traffic is expected to remain closed in that area for at least 2 hours.

This is a developing story.
