For decades, Bakersfield locals have gathered in Old Town Kern on the night before Thanksgiving for the 'Basque Crawl.'

“Everybody meets up with their friends. It’s just a huge party,” said Pyrenees co-owner, Julie Crawford.

“You go away to school or you move away and you are not with your family. and friends You get to come back and you feel like home. Everybody you know is here.”
Pyrenees owners say it's their biggest night of the year, bringing in up to triple in sales compared to a normal weekend night.
“Well this is the seed of Bakersfield from the beginning. Before Bakersfield was Bakersfield, this was Old Town Kern," said Crawford. “So still the tradition goes on and on. Everybody comes back home, everybody goes to Old Town Kern. This is a big hub for the older families here in Bakersfield. They grew up coming here. Their grandparents came here, great grandparents came here. Everybody meets up here.”
