BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - UPDATE (May 24, 2017 10:15 a.m.): The person who found in a canal has been identified as 56-year-old Michael Joseph Brouilette.
UPDATE (May 19, 2017 3 p.m.): The male found in the canal passed away at the hospital. He was in his 50's.
Foul play is not suspected in this incident.

The person was found just after 1 p.m. near the City Corporation Yard floating in the canal
City employees saw the subject and used poles to prevent him from continuing downstream.
