29-year-old Derek Connell was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for two counts of homicide, police say.

Connell was taken into questioning on Saturday morning regarding two apparent homicides on Lily Pad Court.

Around 1:20am BPD responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Lily Pad Court concerning a report of suspicious circumstances. 

When officers arrived they found Connell leaving the residence and two dead individuals inside "appearing to be apparent victims of a homicide," the release said.

The investigation is ongoing anyone with information is asked to call BPD at 327-7111. 

Neighbors say they didn't hear anything out of the ordinary and that they even saw the couple at the mailbox earlier in the day.
