A suspect entered Martin’s Meats and Deli in downtown Bakersfield Saturday afternoon and attempted to take items without paying for them, according to Bakersfield police.

An employee confronted the suspect and took the items back. The suspect then scratched the employee on the face and fled eastbound on foot.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic female, late 20’s, 5’ 4”, and slim build with short brown hair.
