Community members came out for the ribbon cutting of “The Quad at Friendship House” Wednesday, a safe haven for kids in Southeast Bakersfield.
The Community Action Partnership of Kern’s Community Center is located on Cottonwood Road.
The Quad is a family-friendly green space with trees and a covered stage, where local families will be able to enjoy picnics, open air concerts, movies and other fun activities.
The Quad is the latest addition to the community center, which already has gardens, a playground and a sports field.
