Two men were rescued west of Bakersfield Monday after car ended up 200 feet downhill from the roadway.

READ THE PRESS RELEASE FROM THE KERN COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT:

At 2:18 this afternoon the Kern County Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving a vehicle off the roadway and about two hundred feet downhill. The vehicle was located about 5 miles South of Brite Road on Elk Hills Road. Two adult males were in the vehicle, one walked assisted up the hill side. The second patient was extracted from the vehicle and placed in a Stokes Litter. A rope system assisted the firefighters and Elk Hills employees move the litter up to the roadway.

Both patients were transported by ambulance to Kern Medical Center. One patient was listed with minor injuries, the other with moderate injuries.
