The California Highway Patrol is reporting several Southbound lanes closed on Interstate 5, north of Lebec, due to a car fire.

According to the CHP, it started around 8:50 p.m. Around 9 p.m. CHP reported it opened the no. 1 and 2 lanes for traffic to pass. The no. 3 and 4 lanes are still closed.

CHP reported fire and emergency crews are on scene.

Update 🚧 I-5 SB at Lebec Road CHP has opened the #1 and #2 lane for traffic to pass. The #3 and #4 lanes are still closed. 🚨 merge left
